Dental Implants

What are dental implants used for?

Dental Implants considered to be the best treatment options for restoring missing tooth or bridge. Also can be very useful in supporting unstable dentures.

What are dental Implants made of?

Dental Implants are made of titanium alloy which is very bio-compatible to the human body. This unique feature made it possible for bone to heal around the implant. After the healing period, the implant should be stable enough to support an artificial tooth or teeth.

Replacing one missing tooth: Implant VS Bridge VS Removable Denture

If you have one missing tooth, replacing this missing tooth can be done in different ways depending on the location and case. In General, a missing tooth can be replaced with with a Bridge or Implant or Removable Denture. The Bridge option will require the adjacent teeth (one on each side of the missing tooth) to be prepared and altered permanently. The Implant option will not require altering the adjacent teeth as it is taking the support from the bone itself like the natural teeth. The Removable Denture option may require preparing the adjacent teeth or hooking them with the denture to achieve support and retention while functioning.

Placing an Implant to replace a missing tooth will minimize the resorption of the bone. On the other hand, bone resorption will be faster in other treatment options.

Are dental implant suitable for all ages?

There is no age restriction for placing dental implants.

Dental Implants require sufficient bone in the area of treatment. The dentist will examine the area and provide a treatment plan suitable for each case. The examination process will involve x-ray imaging to know the dimensions of the remaining bone.
